Please Cancel If You Can’t Attend – Every Appointment Counts
Every missed appointment is a missed opportunity for someone else who may need care. If you’re unable to attend your appointment, we kindly ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the slot to another patient in need.
Each year, millions of NHS appointments are missed, costing the NHS an estimated £1 billion annually. Missed GP appointments alone waste valuable time and resources — time that could be spent with patients who need urgent care or ongoing treatment.
Even short appointments make a big difference. Whether it’s for a blood test, cervical screening, or a routine check-up, not attending without cancelling means that time is lost, and another patient misses out.
How to Cancel Your Appointment
Cancelling is quick and easy:

☎️ Call the Practice – Call our reception team as soon as you know you can’t attend by dialling 01200 401680.
- If your appointment is more than 48 hours away, you can also cancel by emailing the practice at pendleside.medicalpractice@nhs.net
Please aim to give as much notice as possible. This gives us the best chance to reallocate the appointment.
