Join Our Patient Participation Group: Clitheroe Health Centre User Group (CHUG)

Welcome to the Clitheroe Health Centre User Group (CHUG)! Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) brings together patients, carers, and family members who want to work collaboratively with our team to improve our services and positively impact the health of our community.

What is CHUG?

CHUG is a group of volunteers and patients at Clitheroe Health Centre who share a common goal: making our surgery the best it can be for everyone. We provide a forum for patients and health centre staff to discuss services, share insights, and work on projects that benefit the community. We also gather feedback from other patients, allowing us to address concerns, celebrate successes, and explore new ideas.

The NHS requires every practice to have a Patient Participation Group to ensure that patient voices are heard and actively involved in shaping healthcare services.

Why Should You Join CHUG?

By joining CHUG, you can:

  • Make a Difference: Your insights and experiences matter. CHUG gives you the chance to voice your opinions and ideas, directly impacting how services are delivered at Clitheroe Health Centre.
  • Improve Healthcare Services: Your feedback can help us identify what’s working well and where we can improve, creating a more effective, patient-centred approach to healthcare.
  • Build a Better Understanding of the NHS: Being part of CHUG provides insight into how our health centre and the NHS operate, helping you understand the services and decisions that impact our community.
  • Connect with Other Patients: Share experiences and build connections with fellow patients who are also passionate about making healthcare better.

Who Can Join?

We value diversity and welcome members of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you’re a young adult, or a long-standing patient, your perspective is valuable to us.

No special experience is required—just a willingness to get involved and a passion for making a positive difference!

What Does CHUG Do?

Members of CHUG participate in:

  • Regular Meetings: Meet with other patients and healthcare staff to discuss current topics, receive updates, and address feedback.
  • Focus Groups and Surveys: Help us gather input from other patients to understand their experiences and perspectives.
  • Reviewing Services and Proposing Improvements: Share your ideas on how to improve patient experience and the efficiency of our services.
