Free NHS Virology Home Self-Swab Kits

Our practice is supporting a national NHS virology surveillance programme. As part of this programme, eligible patients with symptoms of a respiratory infection can request a free home self-swab kit, with no GP appointment required.

Patients may be eligible to take part if they have symptoms such as a cough, sore throat, runny nose or fever. Taking part is completely voluntary, and eligibility is checked automatically when you request a kit online.

To request a kit, please visit https://takeatestuk.com/. You will be asked to enter your NHS number and our practice voucher code: P81069. The system will then confirm whether you are eligible to participate.

If eligible, a self-swabbing kit will be sent directly to your home. The kit includes clear instructions on how to take your sample and prepaid packaging so you can return it easily by post.

Your sample will be tested as part of national NHS surveillance. The information collected helps monitor circulating viruses and supports public health planning and research.
